Blue Malva - Mallow (Malva sylvestris), is a species of the mallow genus Malva in the family of Malvaceae and is considered to be the type species for the genus. Known as common mallow to English-speaking Europeans, it acquired the common names of high mallow and tall mallow as it migrated from its native home in Western Europe, North Africa and Asia through the world.

Cosmetic Uses: Blue Malva (Mallow) Extract is very rich in mucilages, polysaccharides (sugars) and tannins. It will provide natural moisturizing and soothing properties. Skin preparations such as gels, facial moisturizers, serums, lotions, creams and balms, for sensitive, irritated, dry, flaky and itchy skin. Excellent for sun lotions, hyrating and soothing skin care products, baby care products and under-eye treatments. It softens coarse dry hair and enhances elasticity and shine.

Standard Usage Level: 1 - 10% in skin and hair care products. Can be used up to 100%.

Shelf Life

Skincare is food for the skin.

The two goals of fresh and natural, mean a natural product should be fresh and a fresh product should be natural. The normal anticipated shelf life of a natural product is about 1 year from the date of purchase from the manufacturer. The actual shelf life of the product may be longer or shorter depending on how the product is altered, changed, stored, packaged and handled before sale to the final consumer. If ingredients are added to our bases and stock products, you’ll want to consider if they will shorten or change the shelf life and stability of the product.

In general, it is up to the company that is selling to the final consumer to determine the anticipated shelf life of the product. Currently the FDA does not require expiration dates on cosmetics or skincare products. Consider being conservative about expiration time frames and encouraging the consumer to use up the product while it is fresh (3-6 months) or discard it after the time frame has pasted.

It is the responsibility of the customer to conduct appropriate research and development on the use and safety of each item they order before retailing this item to the final consumer.
