Cranberry Extract - Water Based ( Vaccinium macrocarpon )
Cranberries are low, creeping shrubs or vines up to 7 ft long and 2 to 8 inch in height. They have slender, wiry stems that are not thickly woody and have small evergreen leaves. The flowers are dark pink, with very distinct reflexed petals, leaving the style and stamens fully exposed and pointing forward. They are pollinated by bees. The fruit is a berry that is larger than the leaves of the plant; it is initially light green, turning red when ripe. It is edible, but with an acidic taste that usually overwhelms its sweetness. Cranberries extracts are a source of polyphenols – including proanthocyanidins, flavonols and quercetin.

Cosmetic Uses: Cranberry Extract is suitable for a variety of skin care applications including lotions, soaps, skin creams and lip balms. Use it to enhance moisture and to include the properties of Cranberry in your formulations.

Standard Usage Level: 1 - 10% in skin and hair care products. Can be used up to 100%.

The actual shelf life of the product may be longer or shorter depending on how the product is altered, changed, stored, packaged and handled before the sale to the final consumer. If ingredients are added to our bases and stock products, consideration should be given to the fact that this may shorten or change the shelf life and stability of the product.

In general, it is up to the company that is selling the product to the final consumer to determine the anticipated shelf life of the product.

Currently, the FDA does not generally require expiration dates on cosmetics or skincare products.
Consider being conservative about expiration time frames and encouraging the consumer to use up the product while it is fresh (4-8 months) or discard it after the time frame has passed.

It is the responsibility of the final retailer to conduct appropriate research and development on the use and safety of each item they offer for sale before retailing this item to the final consumer.
