Bay Leaves (Laurus nobilis) also known as sweet bay, bay tree, true laurel, Grecian laurel, laurel tree, or simply laurel, is an aromatic evergreen tree or large shrub with green, glossy leaves, native to the Mediterranean region. Its aromatic dark, glossy green leaves are used as an essential oil used in perfumery. The trees are very slow growing and very good for large containers or tubs. They respond well to trimming and also make good hedge subjects for the landscape.
